Steve Dobson, BSc (Hons), IOFM, FCMI, CPC, FinstLM, has been working with DWP and delivering DWP national employment programmes for over 20 years. In the 2000s in his role as National Operations Director (Employment Division) for Shaw Trust, he designed and delivered cost-effective, high-performance solutions to complex business requirements. Steve was involved in the Government Pilot Scheme transition known as Personal Adviser Service into a nationally contracted programme, New Deal for Disabled People. During that time he implemented new delivery programmes valued at £45m in Scotland, Wales, NW & NE England and led a team of 320+.
He then moved to work internationally, designing Employment Programme Business Systems and for Shaw Trust and established the largest outsourced Business Systems project (£15m) in the UK, USA and India.
For the last ten years, Steve has been an Interim Management Consultant, offering services for business transformation, strategic business planning, contract management, operations delivery, and partnership building to various clients. He has successfully facilitated new multi-million-pound agreements with leading funding bodies and commissioners including the Cabinet Office, DWP, MOJ, ESFA, SFA, LGO and the NHS.
Steve is one of our Development Directors here at ESS Assist and specifically helps our clients to secure funding. Having the experience and knowledge to be able to advise a range of clients from small charities to large private corporations on funding, makes him an asset to the team, and to our clients. To date, Steve has helped multiple organisations win over £2.2 million of business through the Flexible Support Fund (FSF).
