The new DPS2 opened for applications back on 20th September 2021, replacing the Provision of Work Focused Activities DPS, which was established by the DWP in 2016 to support the training of the unemployed. The main update was in the application process; DWP now releases call-off contracts, all of which are available to be viewed by suppliers.
What have they funded so far?
The list below provides a summary of 10 randomly selected contract opportunities offered by DWP for the week commencing 10/1/22.
- Peer mentoring for ex-offenders to assist learners in training, education, or employment. 55 learners. £99,000 available
- Confidence building/coaching. 35 learners. £45,500 available
- Job search support. 40 learners. £30,000 available
- Job Search Support. 80 learners. £60,000 available
- Basic IT Skills Training. 50 learners. £65,000 available
- Mentoring support for ex-offenders. 30 learners. £55,000 available
- Food Hygiene and/or Customer Service Training. 10 learners. £20,000 available
- Employability training for those with Autism/Asperger’s/ADHD. 50 learners. £75,000 available
- ESOL training. 10 learners. £20,000 available
- Level 2 Food and Hygiene delivery. 20 learners. £45,000 available.
Opportunities via the Flexible Support Fund are only open to providers who have successfully applied to join the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS2).
The Flexible Support Fund’s Low Value Provision (LVP) is also still open, and approved suppliers do not have to re-apply. Requests for a wide range of courses continue to be released by JobCentre Plus via their online portal, with a particularly high number of opportunities available for logistics, warehouse, health & safety, and HGV/LGV training providers.
